Lafayette Park Hotel Wedding | Persian Ceremony & Florals

We had the pleasure of designing for a special wedding that was hosted at Lafayette Park Hotel. The wedding was full of meaning, tradition, and striking white and red floral details.

Ceremony:

The ceremony was held in the Lafayette Park Hotel fountain courtyard. This space feels like a private European courtyard with its limestone fountain directly in the center and French chateau architecture of the hotel surrounding the entire courtyard. I love how intimate the space feels, while still having open skies overhead. This couple opted for purely red flowers for the ceremony installations. The Persian ceremony featured a stunning sofreh aghd. The table was abundant with many traditional symbolic elements such as fruit, honey, nuts, a mirror, candles, and flowers. We designed red arrangements for the top of the table and then a gentle cascade of flowers from the front of the table, down to the ground. On either side of the table there were pillars with dramatic red arrangements as well. The ceremony also featured a “broken” arch which flanked the couple as they said their vows.

The personal ceremony flowers were purely white. Each member of the bridal party carried a single white rose down the aisle. They then placed the roses on the memorial chairs to honor the bride’s beloved late mother and father. This thoughtful detail brought love, emotion, and reverence into the ceremony for the families and loved ones.

Reception:

The wedding reception was held in the Independence Ballroom which is located directly through the French doors behind the ceremony space at Lafayette Park Hotel. Vendors and guests alike appreciate the ease of moving from the ceremony to reception. No transportation or complicated signage needed to figure out where to go next.

The ballroom itself is something special. The crystal chandeliers, floor to ceiling drapery, French doors to the courtyard, and European-inspired design make it a perfect starting point from a design perspective. The guest tables featured full, lush, purely white centerpieces that included an abundance of glowing candles.

The sweetheart table, however, had it’s own dramatic feel. It featured purely red flowers, which created a unique moment for the newlyweds that set their table apart from the rest. On either side of them the Laurel and Vine team repurposed the ceremony “broken arch” flowers and on top of and in front of the table were also repurposed arrangements from the sofreh aghd. We love to repurpose flowers from the ceremony to reception so that the flowers can be enjoyed all night long.
