Kohl Mansion is truly one of the best wedding venues in the bay area and Laurel and Vine is grateful that we’ve got the chance to work there many times through the years. If you’re planning a Kohl Mansion Wedding, you’ll fall in love with it for it’s beauty, uniqueness, functionality, and convenience. This makes it an easy “yes” for engaged couples.
Elegant Ceremony Spaces and Beautiful Grounds
There is a stunning lawn area that can host the ceremony, with the mansion as the backdrop. Alternatively, there is also the option of hosting the ceremony indoors if needed. An extremely open and airy room, which the venue refers to as the “dining room” is absolutely perfect for indoor ceremonies. It features giant windows that bathe the couple in natural light during the ceremony. No poorly lit, dark wedding photos here!
The perfectly manicured grounds were originally designed by John McLaren (the legendary designer of San Francisco's Golden Gate Park). And they are a breathtaking place to take photos with your photographer and also a fun place for guests to wander off to during the evening.
Historic Character
Kohl Mansion was built in 1914 and is one of the Bay Area's best examples of Tudor Revival architecture. When guests pull up to the venue, they’ll be wowed by the dramatic red brick with bright white accents. Inside, the extremely high ceilings and large windows give a feeling of spaciousness. The elegant furnishings and grand stair case make it feel extra special and reduce the need for rental items to create visual interest. The uniqueness of this venue works very well with luxurious floral accents.
A Seamless Flow for a Kohl Mansion Wedding Day
There are “getting ready” rooms on site for the bride and groom. This is where the bridal party can get their dresses on, have boutonnieres pinned, have a drink with their friends, take photos, and relax in the moments leading up to the ceremony. Not every venue has a designated spot for this and it makes all the difference for the flow of the day.
The terrace on site can serve as a cocktail hour space and is located directly between the mansion and the lawn. This makes for a very easy flow for your guests moving from ceremony, to cocktail hour, to reception. When the flow is easy for them, they feel more taken care of and at ease to enjoy themselves.
The indoor reception space comes complete with a dance floor. One less thing for you to worry about renting and having installed.
Kohl Mansion also includes a full professional kitchen so that caterers have an easy space to work in. Again, not every venue provides this and it can make finding and hiring your caterer a bit more of an easy process.
Convenient for Guests and Vendors
The distance from SFO International Airport to Kohl mansion is 5.5 miles. This is extremely convenient for your out of town guests and allows them more time to relax and get ready for your big day when they arrive. It’s also very close to San Francisco where they can indulge in some of the best sites and experiences that the city has to offer.
Both guests and vendors appreciate that there is ample parking on site for Kohl mansion weddings. This is also a more unique feature. Many venues have very little parking available. These very practical details make the wedding day less stressful for everyone involved.
Kohl Mansion is such a special place to get married, and it's always an honor to design flowers that enhance its beauty. Whether you're celebrating here or at another venue somewhere in the Bay Area, I'd love to help create floral designs that feel uniquely suited to your wedding day.
