Ditch the Baby's Breath and Opt for Wax Flower

Baby’s breath has been a bit overdone. It is a beautiful flower, but we all want options, right? Introducing, WAX FLOWER.

Wax flower is a great alternative to baby’s breath because it still functions as a filler flower, but can also beautifully stand on it’s own. The tiny blooms give a similar look as baby’s breath, but they add a little more texture and interest than baby’s breath can offer.

Wax flower lasts great out of water for events and weddings. That makes it a great option for boutonnieres, corsages, flower crowns, cake flowers, and on place settings. Usually a single stem of wax flower will have multiple off shoots of blooms, so you can actually get quite a bit of bang for your buck.

If you have wax flower in a vase with water, it can last for weeks. It’s perfect on it’s own in small bud vases for events or around your house. It’s truly a reliable, hearty flower.

It comes in white and various shades of pink and purple. My favorite is light pink with a burgundy center. The unopened buds have a rose gold, metallic look to them. So if you have a dusty rose or rose gold in your color scheme, these tiny buds can be just the right touch.

The prime season for wax flower is late winter, early spring. This is when it’s freshest and perkiest.
